Believe it or not, I was never into Yoga, in fact, I despised it when it was Yoga day with my trainer. It hurt, I was not flexible and I could not believe how difficult it was. I would have prefered to lift weights and jump up and down instead of stretching.
However, I stuck with it and over the years I have come to realise the importance of stretching / Yoga.
Yoga increases your flexibility, develops muscle tone and improves your athletic performance. It also aids cardio and circulatory health, increases your metabolism and pretects you from injury. Now what’s not to like about that? 🤔
Although some may think Yoga is easy, that is not necessarily the case. This totally depends on what Yoga you do. I practice Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga which is an intense form that keeps your heart rate up and the juices flowing.
For this reason, I would strongly advise that you give it a go. Try a Sun Salutation in the morning when you wake or when you come home from work. You will be surprised about how good it will make you feel.
